Part 2
The room fell completely still.
No one spoke.
Valeria felt her legs weaken—but she held herself steady. Not now.
“Where is he?” she asked quietly. “Tell me where he is.”
The man hesitated, glancing at the guests… at Sebastián… at Lucía.
“I can’t say it here…”
Valeria stepped closer, her voice turning sharp.
“Then speak.”
He swallowed.
“He’s in a private hospital north of the city… but there are people watching him.”
“Who?”
He didn’t answer.
He didn’t need to.
Valeria slowly turned her gaze toward Lucía.
Lucía stepped back.
“I don’t know what you mean…”
Valeria smiled faintly.
“You were never very good at hiding the truth.”
That night, the rain returned.
Valeria arrived at the hospital alone.
The halls were quiet—too quiet.
Two men stepped in her way.
“You can’t go in.”
She looked at them calmly.
“Who sent you?”
“It doesn’t matter.”
Valeria let out a quiet breath.
“It does… because you’re standing in the wrong place.”
Moments later, she walked past them.
Room 307.
Her hand trembled as she opened the door.
Inside—
A child.
Small. Pale. Connected to machines.
But alive.
“My son…”
She stepped closer, gently touching his face.
Warm. Real.
“Mom…” he whispered.
